Police: Man arrested for DUI following crash in Atherton - San Jose Mercury News

ATHERTON -- A 41-year-old East Palo Alto man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Tuesday after he crashed his pickup truck through a fence on Marsh Road and overturned into an adjacent channel. He was taken to the Stanford Emergency Department, where he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence around 2 a. m. Tuesday. Marsh Road was reopened after Paniagua's 1999 Chevrolet Silverado was removed from the channel and barricades were set up, according to Atherton Public Works Director Steve Tyler. Menlo Park Fire Protection District Chief Harold Schapelhouman said the pickup truck took out about 200 feet of fence. "The Marsh Channel continues to be the site of numerous vehicle accidents," he said in a statement. Source: www.mercurynews.com
