Bob Sportel purchased his 1957 Chevrolet pickup in 1976 for an absurdly low $75 by today’s standards. At the time, he was worried he may have overpaid for the 1957 Chevrolet pickup. The truck itself, although a little beaten and worn, still runs after 58 years, with 38 of those years under Sportel’s ownership. The Sportel family says it has been through more than anyone can imagine, including its service as a prom vehicle for Sportel’s daughter.
