2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD CNG Option Announced - AutoGuide.com

Starting in the fourth quarter of 2015, the 2016 Silverado 3500HD Chassis Cab will add a bi-fuel option, allowing drivers to operate the pickup on CNG or gasoline. According to the American automaker, Southern California Gas Co. is using over 5,000 Silverado 3500HD pickups on the road, with 22 percent of its over-the-road fleet operating on natural gas. All of the CNG fuel systems are warranted and validated by Chevrolet and qualified commercial and government fleet customers receive a five-year, 100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty that covers the CNG fuel system and its components. The Silverado 3500HD will be outfitted with a 24. 5-gallon CNG tank directly behind the cab and will be in addition to the 23. 5-gallon gasoline tank, giving drivers fueling flexibility and optimal range between fillups. The Silverado 3500HD Chassis Cab joins the bi-fuel Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD and the dedicated CNG full-size Chevrolet Express and vans in the company’s lineup. Source: www.autoguide.com
