Ford edges closer to post-Territory plans, two options to be explored - CarAdvice

The only other option is to review the previous Ford Freestyle (based of Ford D3 sedan platform I. e. : Ford Five-Hundread) and convert it for RHD only markets. The wild long shot is Ford Australia get Ford Motor Company of China to build them a RHD version of the 7-seater Edge which is again a development of the D3 platform which is revived Freestyle (which ironically is also the XC90). I did a quick... So that leaves revising the “Freestyle” platform which is essentially the CX-9, previous XC90, or Ford Australia somehow gets Ford China to make their version of the Edge into a RHD version for our market (which I doubt will happen) which again... Its gonna be interesting to see sales numbers between Territory and Everest from October 2015 to October 16, that will tell Ford if 7-seater SUV market wants from them a soft-roader AWD (and RWD option) or a proper full time 4WD.
