Only now are selected media getting a chance to spend time with the all-new 2015 Ford F-150 pickup truck, which has a cab and pickup bed made of aluminum. Not unexpectedly, Ford's head of product development said yesterday that its next pickup line--the larger Super Duty trucks--will also have aluminum bodies. Super Duty pickups, with beefier frames, more powerful engines, and vastly higher cargo and towing ratings, are the behemoths of the road-going pickup truck market. These heavy-duty pickups--GM and Ram offer them too--sell in much lower numbers than the Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado, and Ram 1500 "light-duty" pickups.
