2011 Ford F-250 Super Duty Lariat Crew Cab, an AW Drivers Log - AutoWeek

The load in this case was the family--wife and two teenage boys--for a day trip to roller-coaster heaven, Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. The load up in the morning was typical--teens searching for iPods and headphones and telephones while Mom tried to squeeze one more thing into a cooler. That cooler was easily secured into place at the front edge of the coated truck bed with a bungie cord. The back seat of the crew cab is spacious enough for two lanky teens to spread out and have plenty of personal space--this had to be the quietest family road trip in years. There's enough clatter from the engine bay at throttle tip-in to make die-hard truck fans happy. But once you reach cruising speed and back off the throttle, it gets quiet--extremely quiet--for a diesel. The built-in step in the tailgate may look like a gimmick, but it is functional--and it makes a lot of sense with the significantly higher ride height of a heavy-duty pickup. You get looks of awe and respect wheeling this thing into the home-improvement store parking lot. Source: autoweek.com
