Main Street Reunion brings together classic car owners and admirers - Napa Valley Register

Thousands of car enthusiasts gathered in Napa Saturday for the Main Street Reunion Car Show to admire 400 classic cars from the 1920s through the 1970s, most of them in shiny mint condition. Most of the downtown part of First Street was closed to traffic, and vintage vehicles in a rainbow of colors and a variety of styles were parked along the street next to their proud owners. To be part of the show, a car or truck had to be built before 1976. But other than being vintage, most of the vehicles had more differences from each other than similarities. There were family station wagons, sleek race cars, muscle cars, pickup trucks and customized vehicles. The one thing that brought people together was their love of cars. “I drive down the street, and people will wave and give thumbs up,” said Napa resident Lori Farris, who was there showing her 1955 turquoise and white Chevy Bel Air. People love it, especially the elderly people who say their mom and dad had one. While Farris said she drives the Bel Air almost every day, many of the classic car owners said they drive theirs sparingly to keep them in show condition. Gary Kranz, a Napa resident who was at the show with his 1967 black Ford Shelby Cobra convertible, called the car his “play toy. Source: napavalleyregister.com
