Sweeting a big winner at small livestock sale - Norwalk Reflector
Returning to the Huron County Fair for her third grand champion title was South Central junior Summer Sweeting. Sweeting has been showing goats, both dairy and meat, since 2009. “We ›rst just wanted them to take care of the weeds in the pasture,” she said. What started with just a few goats has grown to more than 100. Sweeting sold her grand champion dairy market goat and her reserve champion meat market goat for $1,200 apiece. Buyers of Sweeting’s goats included the West Side Store, Lonz Law Firm, Secor Funeral Home, Myers Chrysler Dodge and Ram, Northern Ohio Rural Water, Wasiniak Construction and Commodity Blenders. Earning the grand champion spot in the meat market goats was Austin Hunker, who sold his for $600 to White’s Automotive Services, A-1 Auto Sales, Bungard Mack Insurance, Lonz Law Firm, Northern Ohio Rural Water and Microcharged. The reserve champion for dairy goats was Makena Calame. She sold her rabbit for $1,100 to RKS Design and Construction LLC, Citizens Bank, Huron County Granges, Arter Home Furnishings, Tonia Maxwell Allstate and Danielion. Source: www.norwalkreflector.com
