Review: Ford's new Edge SUV has space, power - USA TODAY

Ford blurs the line between mass-market and luxury brands with the 2015 Ford Edge Titanium midsize SUV. The Edge has the features, comfort and technical sophistication to compete with luxury SUVs like the Cadillac SRX and Lexus RX, but it costs thousands of dollars less. While some people think the Ford's Edge and Escape SUVs are pretty similar, the new 2015 Edge is 10 inches longer and has considerably more passenger room than the compact Escape. Prices for the 2015 Ford Edge start at $28,905, including $895 in destination charges, for a base model with front-wheel-drive and a 245-horsepower 2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The Edge offers two optional V-6s: a 280-horsepower, 3. 5-liter and 315-horsepower turbocharged 2. 7-liter turbo. A loaded Edge Sport with the 2. 7-liter V-6 and every option checked would cost just over $50,000. I tested a well-equipped 2-liter front-wheel-drive model. It came loaded with voice recognition, navigation, Bluetooth audio and phone compatibility, heated and cooled front seats, heated rear seats, blind spot and cross traffic alerts, lane departure alert and assist and much more. Inside and out, the test car stacked up well against not just the Murano, Cherokee, Sorento and Terrain, but luxury SUVs from Audi, Cadillac, Infiniti and Lexus. Source: www.usatoday.com
