2 kids in critical condition after crash through I-225 off-ramp - Channel 2 News

— A car crash from a southbound Interstate 225 off-ramp has sent two children, ages 2 and 5, to the hospital in critical condition Saturday evening. The crash happened when a red Jeep Cherokee traveling westbound on East 17th Place approaching the intersection of southbound I-225 off ramp ran a red light, witnesses tell Aurora police. The driver of the Jeep was Geraldo Estrada, 29. His vehicle went through the intersection and was struck broadside by a southbound silver Ford F-150 pickup truck. Also in the car were Estrada’s 2-year-old son and 5-year-old nephew. Both children were taken to a local hopsital and are in critical condition, according to Aurora Police. Estrada admitted to police investigators that he ran the red light and should not have been driving because his license is revoked as a Habitual Traffic Offender, according to police. Charges against Estrada are pending but may result in careless driving resulting in serious bodily injuries, child abuse and driving while revoked as a Habitual Traffic offender. Source: kwgn.com
