ARDEN – Authorities have charged a man in connection with a machete attack that severed three fingers inside a home where deputies say marijuana was being manufactured. The investigation into the home on the first block of Fieldcrest Road began early Wednesday when Buncombe deputies received a call regarding a disturbance, according to a search warrant on file at the Buncombe County magistrate’s office submitted... While en route to the home, a Buncombe County sheriff’s deputy was directed to a store at the corner of Brevard Road and Long Shoals Road, the warrant states. The deputy made contact with a man, who said he had been contacted by a friend at the Arden residence, where he said an assault was taking place. A search warrant was also issued for a maroon Acura MDX found outside the residence. The following items were seized during the search: cocaine, marijuana, marijuana stalks, drug paraphernalia, two marijuana grow books, miscellaneous documents, marijuana seeds, two cellphones, blood swabbings, a knife sheath, and a section of door.
