2016 Bentley Continental GT: setting the standard for luxury and performance - CTV News

When it was first introduced in 2004, the modern Bentley Continental GT redefined what a modern grand tourer should be. With a powerful twin turbocharged W12 engine under the bonnet mated to an appropriately modern all-wheel drive system for all... While not as powerful as the W12, the V8 became my choice of engine in the Continental, for its throatier sounds and, more importantly, that there was less mass over the front axle, making the V8 Continental every so slightly more responsive. Through the 2015 model year, the Continental has been so successful for Bentley that they’ve delivered over 52,000 of them in 11 years and it remains Bentley’s most popular model each year. ( see photos ) The sharper, more sporting lower front fascia looks like it was originally designed for the racing Continental GT3 and softened for the road car. Front fenders feature a sharper crease and now include the flying B, similar in look to the Flying Spur and Mulsanne models. At the rear, the lip integrated into the bootlid is more pronounced and intentionally sporting and a revised lower rear diffuser is fitted to V8 S and W12 Speed models. Wheel styling is similarly modernized with three new designs, including Bentley’s first direction design, a twenty-one-inch wheel unique to the V8 S and W12 Speed. Source: www.ctvnews.ca
