Amid EV push: Audi engine development chief is leaving - ecomento.com

Stefan Knirsch, Audi’s head of engine development since late 2013, has elected to leave his position for unspecified reasons. Knirsch was the head of quality management and engine development at Porsche before joining Audi. It’s a tall order, no doubt about it. Audi has been criticized recently for not being an industry leader when it comes to bringing more plug-in hybrid and battery electric vehicles to market. It is now deep into several programs intended to make plug-in hybrid and battery electric technology available in every model the company builds. It’s true Audi has been criticised for not holding up to its true USP however they are making some massive movements in hybrid technology some of which we can expect to see over the next 5 years. Although it’s unfortunate for Audi that Stefan is leaving, this will not stop Audi from progressing forward over the coming years. Source: ecomento.com
