Report: BMW Developing Quad-Turbo Diesel Engine for 7 Series - Automobile
0-liter inline-six engine will build on BMW's existing triple-turbo diesel engine that's already offered in the M550d in Europe. BMW has said that a diesel-powered pure M car would be a tough sell. Earlier this year, BMW M GmbH head Franciscus van Meel told AUTOMOBILE that because diesel engines are unpopular in the U. S. and M cars are very popular here, combining the two might not make sense: "The diesel market is still Europe, not the U.... If we look at the BMW M market, the biggest market is the U. S.
