Speculative development signals Greer economic growth - Greenville News

Charlotte-based Beacon Partners has announced the groundbreaking of 545 Brookshire Road, a 240,020-square-foot space set to become the largest speculative industrial facility ever built in Greer. No tenant is officially lined up for the space as of yet – thus its classification as a speculative facility – but it is just the kind of development that signals strong current status and a bright future for the city and surrounding area,... Situated on 14 acres and just over a quarter of a mile from S. C. 101 near BMW Manufacturing, the South Carolina Inland Port and Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport, the facility in Spartanburg County is scheduled to be completed in January. “We’re very excited to grow Beacon’s industrial presence in the Upstate,” said Sean McDonnell, director of build-to-suit development for Beacon. An Early Suppression Fast Response sprinkler system, 32-foot clear height and 185-foot truck court will accommodate on-site trailer parking and car parking for employees. “From an economic development perspective this is huge, because many of the prospects that come to us don’t have time to wait for a building to be built,” Deaton said.
