6 x 6 Art Show at the Kefauver Studio & Gallery - Boothbay Register

The show features the works of artists who each contributed six works of art. The artists include watercolorist Steve Hamlin from Massachusetts and oil painter Mary Byrom from North Berwick. Also exhibiting in this show are local artists: oil painter and sculptor Marnie Sinclair and watercolorists Jan Kilburn and Kathleen Horst. Said Hamlin, “I paint only in watercolor, in a style that lies somewhere between impressionistic and photo-realistic. Byrom is an award-winning, internationally exhibited artist known for her elegant interpretations of wild, beautiful places. She paints outdoors all year, capturing plein air paintings of the landscape that are brought back to the studio where they become the inspiration for large landscape paintings. Paintings of wild places capture the beauty and soul of nature,” Byrom said. Kilburn spends most of her time painting the seacoast of Maine and New Hampshire in watercolors. She prefers painting en plein air, but can also be found teaching or painting in her Bristol Road studio, or teaching watercolor classes on Monhegan Island. Horst is a watercolorist who opened her Studio Gallery on the Bristol Road this year. Source: www.boothbayregister.com
