Shannon man killed in accident - The Robesonian

SHANNON — Investigators are unsure why the vehicle of a Shannon man exited the road on Tuesday, causing an accident that killed him. Eartle Benjamin Locklear, 68, died when his 2001 BMW station wagon ran off of Wagon Wheel Road, struck a fence, cable box and two trees, according to a report by Trooper M. W. Chavis of the state Highway Patrol. According to the report, the accident occurred at about 12:40 p. m. on Tuesday, about 1. 6 miles from Shannon and a quarter-mile from N. C. 71. Locklear, of Mustang Drive, was traveling at the 55-mph speed limit, the report said. No other vehicles were involved in the accident. Pauls man was killed late Sunday night after his vehicle struck an oncoming car after crossing the center-line on N. C. 20. Don Oliver Hunt Jr. , 29, lived on Pages Lake Road. Source: robesonian.com
