Leathberry was driving a 1997 Buick LeSabre north on Kiwanis Avenue when he allegedly hit the back of a police vehicle that was parked on the side of the road for a traffic stop. The officer ended the traffic stop to pursue the LeSabre. Clemens says the accident caused about $2,000 worth of damage to the patrol car and around $800 in damage to the suspect's car.
