Model switch at GM's Fairfax plant prompts layoffs from suppliers - Kansas City Star

About 380 workers are losing their jobs around the end of October when their companies no longer will supply parts or services for the Chevrolet Malibu at the General Motors Fairfax Assembly Plant. A company spokeswoman said Inteva’s contract expires at the end of October for cockpit assembly of the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse. The Woodbridge Sequencing Center at 7601 N. W. 107th Terrace in Kansas City will lay off nearly 200 employees. Its Malibu contract to assemble certain vehicle parts expires Oct.
