Slidell man killed in single-car crash Saturday: sheriff's office - NOLA.com

The accident occurred shortly after 8 p. m. on Crown Z Road, according to the sheriff's office. Edwin Dammann, 50, of Slidell, was headed northbound on the road off Lousiana 36 in a 2000 Buick Century when he apparently lost control, the sheriff's office said. Dammann's car drifted across the southbound lane and went off the left side of the road, the sheriff's office said. Dammann, whom investigators believe was not wearing a seat belt, was partially ejected from the car and killed, the sheriff's office said. An unidentified passenger was hurt but with injuries that are not life-threatening, the sheriff's office said. In a press release, the sheriff's office said "speed and alcohol are believed to have been factors in this crash," but noted toxicology results are pending. Source: www.nola.com
