Teens face charges related to stolen truck - Ocala

Authorities with the Marion County Sheriff's Office that said shortly before 1 a. m. Monday they went to a home on Laurel Court, where it was reported that someone had stolen a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup with an extended cab. The owner told deputies he usually leaves the keys inside the truck. A Belleview Police Department officer saw the truck and pursued it, but the officer lost sight of the vehicle. As they looked around the property, they saw Tyelor Tucker, 18, and the girl, age 17, behind some trees close to the edge of the lime rock pit. The girl did so, but Tucker jumped into the water. Two deputies found him "lying submerged, with only his face out the water," according to a deputy's report, which also stated that Tucker had used a branch to cover his face. Tucker was ordered out of the water, after which he was arrested, as was the girl. She said Tucker saw the truck and looked inside and saw the keys and opened the door. Tucker faces charges of grand theft auto, criminal mischief and resisting without violence. Court records show Tucker has several pending cases, including possession of a firearm by a delinquent, dealing in stolen property and grand theft. Source: www.ocala.com
