Stephen Thomas Kroyer, 65, of Napa was at the wheel of a 2004 Cadillac DTS sedan when it struck a grocery building on Highway 12, according to Officer Anna Paulson of the California Highway Patrol. Kroyer was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with what CHP described as moderate injuries, but was released and sent home later Wednesday, according to Rick Feldstein, executive officer of the Napa County Superior Court. Officers were called at 3:40 p. m. to La Morenita Market #3 at 18307 Highway 12, Paulson said in an email. Kroyer's Cadillac was headed east on the highway near Calle del Monte when for unknown reasons, it cut across the westbound lane and into the store, which sustained severe damage, according to CHP. Formerly a prosecutor in the Napa County District Attorney's Office and briefly a Napa policeman, Kroyer was appointed to the bench by Gov. Source: napavalleyregister.com
