UPDATE/CORRECTION: Minnesota man killed in two-vehicle I-35 accident - Mason City Globe Gazette

DOWS | A 58-year-old Minnesota man was killed Saturday morning in a two-vehicle traffic accident on Interstate 35 in southern Franklin County. The Iowa State Patrol had initially reported Saturday that the victim in the crash was an 8-year-old child. The accident report was corrected Sunday to show the victim was Richard Stensland, 58, of Lino Lakes, Minnesota. Six other people, include a 6-year-old and an 8-year-old, were also injured in the accident. The report said a 2003 Cadillac Deville driven by Cynthia Stensland, 57, of Lino Lakes, Minnesota, was traveling southbound on the interstate when it slowed down because of possible mechanical problems. In addition to the fatality, injured in the accident were both drivers, as well as Beck Severson, 8, and Brie Severson, 6, both of Granger, and Robert Stensland, 87, and Mary Stensland, 85, both of Lino Lakes, Minnesota. Mary Stensland was transported by Mercy Air Med to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City. The Iowa State Patrol was assisted at the scene by Latimer and Dows fire and rescue departments, Franklin General Ambulance, Clarion Ambulance, Franklin and Wright counties sheriff’s departments and Mercy Air Med.
