2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible Z51 vs. 2015 BMW M4 Convertible: Price up, top down. This week: Chevrolet Corvette. Price: $72,835 as tested. The last hurrah: Labor Day may be approaching faster than a speeding Corvette, but that means now's the time to think about splurging on a convertible. Unstung: I never caught the Corvette bug as a young boy. Nothing against the car - just not my thing. Award winner: I wouldn't call myself a convert now, but I can see that the Corvette was the most awarded car of 2014, including being named North American Car of the Year, according to GM's press data. The week of listening to the roaring exhaust with the top down, as I sped up to the next line of cars. Up to speed - and then some: Naturally, the Corvette is designed for getting people from Point A to B in the biggest hurry possible, and this model was no exception. Triple digits can be had before mere mortals like me even think about it. On the curves: The rear-wheel-drive two-seater is as light as you would expect, and zigging and zagging are both a blast.
