One fatality in head-on collision - Mansfield News Journal

MADISON TOWNSHIP — A New London man died Tuesday from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash on Ohio 545 near Hoover Road. Deven Phillips, 20, of New London, was traveling north on Ohio 545 at 4:18 p. m. Tuesday when his red Chevrolet Cavalier was struck by a southbound black Ford F150 truck that crossed into the northbound lane, said Sgt. Murfield said it appeared that the truck ran off the right side of the road and then overcorrected, swerving across the southbound lane into the path of the car and striking the car head-on. The car came to rest off the side of the northbound lane facing south. Phillips was conscious when officers arrived at the scene but succumbed to his injuries after being taken to OhioHealth MedCentral Mansfield, Murfield said. Gramley sustained injuries that were not life-threatening and was also taken to OhioHealth MedCentral Mansfield, Murfield said.
