Two-car crash in Mecca Twp. kills one - WKBN.com

MECCA, Ohio (WKBN) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that a two-car crash left one woman dead Wednesday afternoon in Mecca Township, according to a press release. According to the release, at approximately 1:14 PM, the Warren Post of OSHP responded to a serious crash on State Road 46 near McCleary-Jacoby Rd. in Mecca Twp. A 2006 Chevy Trailblazer was driving northbound on SR 46 when it hit a 2002 Buick Century, driven by Helen Jervis, 88, of Cortland. Jervis was entering the roadway from her driveway when the SUV hit her. Medical personnel pronounced Jervis dead upon her arrival at St. Joseph Hospital. Paramedics took the driver of the Trailblazer, as well as three kids who were riding inside, to St. Elizabeth Hospital.
