Erin approves money for paving - Clarksville Leaf Chronicle

The Erin Board of Mayor and Aldermen plan to move forward with paving of some city streets although a bid for the work was more than what had been budgeted. McIntosh Paving Co. of Clarksville submitted a bid of $186,195, which Mayor Paul Bailey said was much more than anticipated. The mayor explained that a previous board voted that the money could be used for other purposes, and since then, the city has been adding $1,000 each month to the fund to build up money for paving. Board members voted unanimously to accept the low bid, but the motion did not specify from where the money beyond the $61,000 in the budget would come. Bailey told board members during their non-voting meeting that the city had received three bids for the job and only $39 separated McIntosh’s bid from the next lowest bid. In other business, board members voted to allow Police Chief Mark Moore to purchase another patrol car. The 2013 Dodge Charger will be purchased from the Missouri Highway Patrol for $15,500, and the money will come from $37,202 in the police department’s Drug Fund.
