WOODBURY — A Yonkers man died Tuesday and a Vermont woman was injured in a high-speed collision between a motorcycle and two cars on the New York State Thruway, officials said. Jason Vanterpool, 37, died at Westchester Medical Center, where he was airlifted after a 3:13 p. m. crash, the Westchester County Medical Examiner's Office said. Police said that Vanterpool was riding a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle that struck the rear of a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer, which was traveling north on the Thruway a few miles south of the Woodbury toll plaza. The driver of the Trailblazer, Ada Wright, 68, of Bennington, Vermont, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern for evaluation of minor injuries. The driver of the Subaru, a 17-year-old from Warwick, New York, was not injured. The crash closed lanes on the Thruway near the Rockland County border for hours, resulting in traffic delays at the start of rush hour. Source: www.lohud.com
