Steve McQueen's last Porsche heads to auction - USA TODAY

LOS ANGELES -- Car enthusiasts who hope a little bit of Steve McQueen's charisma can rub off on them will have a chance to bid on the late actor's last personalized Porsche. Regalia, who purchased the car at an California auction back in 2008, says he got the vehicle for a bargain. "I felt that everybody was asleep because it was Steve's last Porsche," says Regalia. "Not only his last Porsche, this is the last of Steve's cars. Regalia says the personalized car was a hit during the 70's and 80's, equipped with a non-intercooled 3 liter engine with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection, producing 234 horsepower. McQueen's affinity for the fast-lane was seen in the extra add-ons, including the slick black sports seats and a custom switch on the dashboard to kill the rear lights of the car. "Back in those days, that was really the first production built supercar, and it really made a big splash at the time," Regalia says. Regalia says he hasn't done much to alter the car since acquiring it, other than minor surface and detail alterations to clean up the car. Source: www.usatoday.com
