Knodel faces his accuser - INFORUM

"Aaron said he liked my hands because they were small and petite and young," the ex-student testified in Cass County District Court on Wednesday, describing one of the messages from Knodel. But Robert Hoy, Knodel's defense attorney, told jurors in his opening statement that the case relies heavily on the woman's word, as she's the only witness to the alleged crime and "it is just not possible" one of the most popular and decorated... A handwriting analyst told jurors she believes notes left in a copy of a "Twilight" novel the student gave Knodel, which he returned as a gift, were likely written by Knodel. But much of the trial's second day was spent on the testimony from the former student, who was 17 at the time of the alleged sex acts. Under cross-examination by Hoy, the student admitted she has spoken to an attorney about filing a civil lawsuit against Knodel and possibly a suit against the West Fargo School District. She said she did so after she told the law enforcement agent about her relationship with Knodel. He's accused of engaging in sexual acts with the former student in his classroom, at his home and in her car, starting in early 2009. The now 23-year-old woman spent most of Wednesday explaining how the relationship with Knodel turned physical. Hoy asked her why she felt Knodel took an interest in her. Source: www.inforum.com
