80-year-old woman killed in Rt. 11 crash - WSLS

ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY (WSLS) – Virginia State Police are investigating a two-vehicle accident that claimed the life of an 80-year-old woman. The crash happened Monday afternoon shortly after 4 p. m. along Rt. 11 northbound two tenths of a mile south of Rt. 716 in Rockbridge County. Troopers said the preliminary investigation revealed a 1989 Chevrolet Corsica driven by Dreama M. Franklin, 80, of Fairfield, Va. , was traveling north when she failed to yield the right of way, and was struck by a 2005 Jeep Wrangler. State police are not releasing information about the driver of the Jeep Wrangler at this time.
