ELKO — Using military principles, people can learn to handle their finances successfully with the help of a local author’s new book. Author Kurt Neddenriep, who is also a senior vice president at an investment firm, draws from his experience during 23 years of service in the Nevada Army National Guard for his first book, “Combat Finance: How Military Values and Discipline Will... He served as a financial adviser and said a lot of soldiers would ask him financial questions. When Neddenriep was stationed in Afghanistan from 2009 to 2010, a captain said, “Sir, you oughta write a book and call it ‘Combat Finance. Neddenriep liked the idea, but was too busy to write in Afghanistan, where he served again as a commander for another two years. “Writing a book turned out to be a lot of work,” Neddenriep said. He said he always tries to relate his financial advice to something the advisee would understand. Neddenriep hoped to help soldiers to understand financing. However, the book is written in a voice and tone that will be open to everyone, he said. The book has three key elements: 1.
