Man pleads guilty to string of vehicle break-ins - Great Falls Tribune

A Great Falls man accused of breaking into multiple vehicles in March changed his plea in court Monday. Scott Anthony Roll, 43, originally was charged with one count of felony theft, four counts of misdemeanor criminal mischief and five counts of misdemeanor criminal trespassing to a vehicle. He pleaded guilty to one count of theft by common scheme, a felony, through a plea agreement with the state. DOC records indicate Roll is on probation out of Yellowstone County for a theft in 2013. The other charges against Roll were dismissed. Roll admitted in court to taking property including a cellphone, credit cards, a purse, clothing, a shotgun, ammunition, GPS units, chewing tobacco and other items from six victims. Great Falls police received several reports of vehicles being broken into the night of March 11 at locations such as The Do Bar, Montana Lil’s Casino and the Heritage Inn. Court documents said Roll was apprehended after one of the victims used GPS to track his stolen cellphone. GFPD responded to the area and located a 1993 Chevy Corsica parked on the south side of the road. Source: www.greatfallstribune.com
