'67 issue, John Ethridge tested a pair of 1967 Mercury Cougars. The second Cougar, the Cougar you see here, was "something else," he said. In August 1966, a special purpose vehicle order was placed at Lincoln-Mercury for a car that would become the prototype for Moore's racing Cougars. That car has become known as 3668 (the final digits in its VIN) and Car 1. It's a well-documented piece of Mercury racing history that, over the years, was readily identified by its distinctive rollbar, which was installed in Dearborn before the...
