Shortly after 6 p. m. Tuesday, the man was driving a 1993 Nissan Quest heading north on San Miguel Canyon Road near Strong Circle in unincorporated Royal Oaks, where he lost control of the vehicle and collided with a 1998 Chevrolet Astro van... The Nissan then struck a southbound 2013 Freightliner that was driving behind the Chevrolet, according to the CHP. The 19-year-old Nissan driver, whose name was not immediately being released, was pronounced dead at the scene, CHP officials said. The driver of the Chevrolet, a 44-year-old Salinas man, and his passenger, a 38-year-old Salinas man, were transported to Natividad Medical Center for treatment, according to the CHP.
