MODELS AFFECTED: 2014-15 Chevrolet Spark and 2015 Chevrolet Sonic. UNITS AFFECTED: 50,731 (45,000 in the U. S. ). This recall is the result of buggy software powering radios on Sparks and Sonics. According to GM, that software can cause problems in vehicles equipped with both a base radio and OnStar. Specifically, when OnStar is in turn-by-turn navigation mode, the software can cause the radio to freeze and the display screen to go blank. After receiving recall notices in the mail, owners will be able to take their vehicles to a Chevrolet dealer, who will reboot the radio software at no charge. Source: www.thecarconnection.com
