Truck full of play equipment for Midlands kids, seniors unveiled - The State

Angel Cruz, chief of security for Columbia Housing Authority, takes the opportunity to try out some of the recreation equipment inside the Mobi-Rec on Wednesday. It is designed to increase opportunities for youth to participate in safe, structured play and recreation in areas where access is limited. Columbia Housing Authority unveiled its new mobile recreation vehicle during a news conference Wednesday. The Mobi-Rec is a new, 2014 Chevrolet Express 3500 commercial cutaway van is outfitted with a variety of recreation equipment and will travel to select neighborhoods within Columbia. It is designed to increase opportunities for youth to participate in safe, structured play and recreation in areas where access is limited. A truck full of hula hoops, nets, Frisbees, volleyballs, soccer balls and other play equipment is set to start making the rounds of Columbia Housing Authority developments and other public areas in the Midlands.
