Two stolen vehicles were recovered by Newman police last week - including one which was recovered following a lengthy pursuit by authorities. 8 attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Malibu driven northeast on Hills Ferry. Rather than yielding to the patrol unit, the driver of the Malibu led police on a chase that terminated in the Keyes area. The vehicle was located in an orchard on the outskirts of Keyes, according to police reports, but no occupants could be located. The Malibu had been reported stolen out of Modesto, police said. 6, police responding to a report of an unoccupied vehicle at M and Kern streets recovered a 1998 Honda which had been reported stolen July 19 out of Woodland. Newman police received 64 calls for service, reported 90 officer-initiated incidents, handled 26 cases, made 11 arrests and issued 11 traffic citations from Aug.
