Early morning head-on crash turns deadly on Highway 46 - KERO 23ABC News

- Three employees of The Wonderful Company were killed and 1 other was injured in a head-on crash on Highway 46 at Gun Club Road. The California Highway Patrol reported the crash about 5:15 Thursday morning between Highway 43 and the I-5 corridor. The CHP says they believe one of the drivers fell asleep and swerved into the other lane, causing the crash between three cars. The two who survived the crash were airlifted to local hospitals with serious injuries. One later died from their injuries. KCSO identifies one of the victims killed as 19-year-old Armando Murguia Contreras of McFarland. Contreras was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu at the time of the crash. KCSO identified one of the passengers involved as 46-year-old Veronica Dias De Madrigal. The Wonderful Company released a statement confirming four of their employees were involved in the morning crash. “This morning at 5:15 a. m. , an automobile accident took place on Highway 46 involving four of our employees. Three of the victims died and one is at a local hospital in critical, but stable condition. All of us at The Wonderful Company are shocked and saddened by this tragic accident.
