PRINCETON, Ky. (8/18/15) — According to a Kentucky State Police report, KSP is investigating a two vehicle, fatality collision that occurred on US 62, approximately one mile west of Princeton, on Monday, Aug. 17, at 3:21 p. m. The preliminary investigation revealed that Paula Brown , 50, Fredonia, Ky. , was operating a 2000 Jeep Cherokee, pulled over onto the emergency strip of the eastbound lane of US 62W. Brown, a United States Postal Carrier, was... The impact of the collision caused Brown’s vehicle to exit the eastbound shoulder of the roadway into a ditch. Brown’s vehicle came to final rest in a ditch beside the eastbound lane of travel. Sams' vehicle continued traveling east in the emergency strip along the eastbound shoulder and came to final rest partially in the eastbound emergency strip. Brown was transported by ambulance to Caldwell County Medical Center, and was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital. The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Department, the Princeton Police Department, the Princeton Fire Department, Caldwell County EMS and the Caldwell County Coroner’s Office assisted at the scene.
