Honda to start production on Acura NSX next spring in Marysville - Columbus Dispatch

Honda, which owns the Acura brand, put three models of the NSX on display on Friday at a luxury auto show in California. Earlier this year, Honda said it had hoped to have the Ohio-made supercar go on sale before the end of the year. The delay is due to refinements to the engine and changes in how Honda has traditionally built and delivered vehicles, according to Honda. Honda is reviving a model that was sold from 1990 to 2005 and was a darling of many car enthusiasts. Engineering for the model is being led by Honda R&D Americas in nearby Raymond. The original NSX sold for about $90,000. Its annual sales topped out at 1,940 in 1991. Honda has yet to announce a price for the models, but the base car is expected to sell for about $150,000. The car will be available throughout the world, but... Honda won’t say how fast the car can go. Its twin-turbocharged V-6 can produce more than 550 horsepower. The NSX is one of several high-performance vehicles that either have been released recently or will be soon, including the new Chevrolet Corvette and the Ford GT, said Michelle.
