Court Documents Outline Illegal Drug Activity at Lincoln Businesses - 1011now

Two Lincoln businesses and three Lincoln residents face federal indictments for allegedly selling synthetic marijuana and drug related crimes. A federal indictment shows the two businesses, Dirt Cheap and Island Smokes in Lincoln, face charges of drug distribution, paraphernalia, and financial crimes. The investigation included the eight law enforcement agencies, from local police departments to federal investigators. According to the federal indictment the property subject to forfeiture include three cars, 3,600 pipes,bongs, and water bongs, 45 containers of rolling paper and wraps, 572 packages of potpourri and five properties. The federal court document said Peithman and Elder own Dirt Cheap at 27th & Randolph, the document lists all three as owners of the former Island Smokes at 33rd and Y Streets. The US Attorney's Office says 8 law enforcement agencies were involved in the investigation, from the local level with University Police all the way to national agencies like Homeland Security and the FDA.
