Chevrolet says when it designed the 2015 Tahoe for police use, it not only thought about the officer, but the officer’s canine companion, too. “Heat exhaustion is one of the top killers of police dogs,” said Michael Werges, sergeant-at-arms, North American Police Dog Association. Unlike humans, dogs do not have a sweat glands in their skin to cool off, leaving a dog’s paws as the only biological method of cooling down. Knowing this, Chevrolet says the 2015 Tahoe PPV has more cooling vents in the vehicle’s third row than any other patrol vehicle. Speaking of a third row, Chevrolet is the only brand to offer a true third-row in a patrol car, making it the ideal candidate for K-9 units due to the bountiful amount of space in the rear.
