Cyclist fatally struck by SUV in Herndon ID"d - W*USA 9
HERNDON, Va. (WUSA9) -- A 38-year-old cyclist is dead after being struck by an SUV in Herndon, Va. Monday night, Fairfax County police said. The crash happened on Sunrise Valley Drive close to Coppermine Road around 8 p. m. , according to authorities. The investigation shows that two cyclists were going north on Sunrise Valley Drive in the right lane. Neither of the cyclists were wearing reflective clothing or using their lights when the crash happened. A 29-year-old man from Fairfax was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Suburban (SUV) and hit one of the cyclists, police said. The victim was taken to the hospital and died later that evening, police said.
