Two dead in Nacogdoches Co. crash - KYTX

UPDATE: One person remains in critical condition after a crash that killed a mother and child Friday night. Six-year-old Richard Lira was transferred from Memorial Hospital in Nacogdoches to Children's Hospital in Houston, where he remains in critical condition. NACOGDOCHES COUNTY (KYTX) -- Two people, including an infant, were killed in a crash Friday night in Nacogdoches County. The preliminary crash investigation indicates that the northbound traffic on U. S. 59 was moving slowly while the scene of a previous crash was being cleared when a northbound 2012 Chevrolet Traverse approached the slow moving traffic and struck... The driver of the Chevrolet was identified as Michael Zambo, 27, of Lufkin. He and three other passengers, identified as Blaze Zambo, 1, Richard Lira, 6, and Aubree Saldana, 6, all of Lufkin, were transported to Memorial Hospital in Nacogdoches. Laura Saldana, 23, also of Lufkin, was in the Chevrolet as well and was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Kerry Williamson. Blaze Zambo was pronounced dead at Memorial Hospital.
