Kidnap suspect still at large, victim's father describes ordeal - Bakersfield Now

The three victims of the Tuesday night ordeal were held at gunpoint in a cabin near Twin Oaks, and the father of one says they managed to hike for miles to safety. He says they headed up to a family cabin about 15 miles southeast of Twin Oak, and a man was there. "The suspect appeared from behind them," the father says, "told them to put their hands up, and had a shotgun pointed at them. The father says for about 90 minutes the suspect held the men inside the cabin, often "talking nonsense. The dad says about then, the suspect started gathering up some things he wanted. The suspect started to load the items into a Polaris Ranger, which the three men had driven to the cabin. "They heard the Polaris start, (the suspect) didn't leave, but they took that chance and they escaped out of where he was holding them," the father says. He says the young men headed for a dry creek bed and started running, and they heard the suspect follow along on a nearby road. The father says the suspect then apparently went back toward the cabin, and the boys headed west toward Twin Oaks. The young men were supposed to meet the father later at another location, and he found them about half-way to Twin Oaks. Source: www.bakersfieldnow.com
