It was 27 years ago Lyle and Erin Halvorsen opened their auto restyling business with 300 dollars in their checking account and borrowed tools. “We focused on vinyl top repairs and replacements,” explains Halvorsen. “We put on quarter tops, half tops and even full tops. ” “I used to help him put the shells onto Grand Marquis, Cadillacs and Lincoln Town cars,” remembers Erin Halvorsen. Popularity of leather seating upgrades and the ongoing need for headliner repair means Halvorsen doesn’t just focus on luxury or high end cars. “The bulk of my business focuses on American cars,” says Halvorsen, adding if you have a special need for a classic car he is the ones to come see. Headliner repair continues to comprise a large part of their business. “We’ve specialized in this since the early years when we were located behind Triangle Hardware,” says Halvorsen.
