MILLVILLE – A 14-year-old boy may have accidentally shot himself in the foot during a joyride gone wrong in Millville on Monday, police said. Police were dispatched to the area of 8th and Mulberry streets around 11:07 p. m. Monday and found the teen sitting on the sidewalk near a heavily damaged 2008 Chrysler Sebring he was riding in. The teen suffered a gunshot wound to his left foot,... According to authorities, the 14-year-old said he and two other teens were riding around the city in the vehicle without their relative's permission. The teen said he heard a gunshot while they were riding east on the 700 block of Mulberry Street, and felt pain around his left ankle, police said. The driver looked back at the 14-year-old when the shot was heard, and ran a stop sign at the intersection of 8th and Mulberry streets, authorities said. The Chrysler struck another vehicle in the intersection which was heading north on 8th Street and suffered heavy front-end damage. The other two teens in the Chrysler fled on foot after the crash.
