Will LSU football trend up in 2015? - Shreveport Times

BATON ROUGE – LSU football has clearly been trending downward over the last three years — not unlike Myspace, which ruled from 2005 through 2008 but has basically been in outer space since. 1 Tigers were trending as upward as Facebook and Twitter just four years ago as they were 13-0 overall and were 8-0 Southeastern Conference champions and playing Alabama for the BCS national championship after two consecutive wins over the Crimson... And LSU coach Les Miles led former LSU coach and present Alabama coach Nick Saban, 3-2 head-to-head with two straight road wins. The Tigers had won 11 of their previous 12 SEC games heading into the Louisiana Superdome that January night and were 15-2 in the league going back to late in the 2009 season. Beginning with that 21-0 loss to Alabama for the BCS title, however, LSU is 15-10 against SEC opponents. The Tigers have dropped from 8-0 in the league in 2011 to 6-2, to 5-3 and to 4-4 last season. The final national rankings have dropped from No. 2 to No. 14, to No. 14 again and into outer poll space last season for the first time since 2008. The preseason rankings are also in free fall — from No. 3 in 2012 to No. 12 in 2013, to No. 13 last... “Our team, eight wins, certainly not enough,” Miles said at SEC Media Days, where his team was not picked to win the SEC for the eighth straight year. “We played some really good ballclubs in that eight-win season and played them very close.
