Miles' morning briefing: Brandon Harris will start - Shreveport Times

BATON ROUGE – For the third time over the past week, LSU football coach Les Miles said that Brandon Harris will be the starting quarterback when the No. 13 Tigers open the 2015 season against McNeese State at 6:30 p. m. Saturday in Tiger Stadium... “Brandon Harris will take the first snap,” Coach Miles said to kick off the weekly SEC Teleconference on Wednesday morning. Miles first said that Harris, a sophomore from Bossier City who started just one game last season, will be the starter on his first weekly radio show of the season last Wednesday. Miles had repeated that throughout August practices and in the scrimmages that Harris took most of the snaps with the first team and was in the lead for the quarterback starting position. We’re looking forward to getting back in Tiger Stadium and looking forward to this 2015 team. Miles said he liked playing an in-state opponent like McNeese State, which is located two hours west of LSU in Lake Charles. The Cowboys will be LSU’s seventh in-state opponent since the 2009 season. Former LSU athletic director Skip Bertman started scheduling in-state opponents more when he was in office from 2001 through 2008.
